Wilmer Valderrama to “Awake” fans

“That 70s Show” alum Wilmer Valderrama is starring in “Awake,” a new NBC show slated to air tonight. The series stars Valderrama as ambitious Detective Vega who plays partner to Detective Michael Britten (played by Jason Isaacs), a sleuth solving crimes in alternate realities after a devastating car accident. The Venezuelan-American actor has last been seen in guest appearances on the NBC sitcom “Are You There, Chelsea?”

The small screen star hasn’t been shy about his hopes for a hit show, tweeting today “It’s time for Awake’s debut!!!  TONIGHT & every Thursday on NBC at 10pm!!! Help me tell the world!”

George Lopez to produce, star in new sitcom

Set your DVR’s now: George Lopez is heading back to the small screen in a new sitcom. Lopez will star and executive produce the series, which will feature the escapades of a Latino family. It’s a return to television for Lopez, whose self-titled comedy series George Lopez ran a record 120 episodes on ABC. It’s the first high-profile project for the comedian since the cancellation of his late night talk show “Lopez Tonight,” which TBS canceled in 2011.

Roslyn Sanchez to get dirty in “Devious Maids”

Puerto Rican beauty Roselyn Sanchez will play one of the leads in a new drama about four maids who work for the wealthy while scheming to get ahead in glitzy Beverly Hills. Sanchez will play Carmen, an aspiring singer who works for a haughty pop star played by newcomer Angelique Cabral.  Sanchez, whose film “Act of Valor” is now playing in theatres nationwide, will be joined on set by Ana Ortiz (of Ugly Betty fame) and Dominican starlet Dania Ramirez.  Judy Reyes, best known for her role on “Scrubs” completes this strong quartet of female characters.

Venezuelan actress Majandra Delfino to join new ABC drama

Industry newcomer Majandra Delfino has been tapped to join the cast of a new ABC prime time show starring singer-actress Mandy Moore. The show’s plot revolves around Annie (Moore) and her new husband Ben as they experience the ups and downs of married life while managing a restaurant. Delfino will play one of Annie’s sisters,one of the colorful characters in Annie’s “needy and high-maintenance family,” reports Deadline.com.

The Venezuelan actress and Miami resident had a supporting role on the WB series “Roswell”  and made appearances in films like “Traffic,” which earned her ALMA and SAG awards for her performance. The Caracas native has also released three studio albums.
