Eva Longoria to create new dating show

Eva Longoria may be newly single after her split from Eduardo Cruz, but she’s still looking for love – well, at least on behalf of other single ladies! “The Desperate Housewives” star is developing a series for NBC Universal starring a handful of celebrity match makers – like VH1’s Steve Ward and Amber Kelleher – that will coach single women in search of love. “All about Love” is scheduled to go into production next month, according to the New York Post.

It’s designed to help real women get back into the dating pool,” a source told Us magazine of Longoria’s new series. “They’ve chosen single women and single mothers — women who have been through a series of heartaches and battles in life and have all but given up on finding one true love.”

It’s just the latest in a series of projects for Tejana star who just signed a deal to join ABC’s “Devious Maids” as an executive producer and is hawking a new fragrance named EVAmour, all while hitting the campaign trail for President Barack Obama.

J. Lo hooks up with Pitbull

Jenny from the block is hooking up with rapper Pitbull, but it’s not what you think: the hot duo are teaming up again for a new single titled “Dance Again” that’s scheduled for release on Friday.

The Bronx-bred diva will debut the dance track’s video on an upcoming episode of American Idol and the tune will be available on iTunes on April 2nd.  It’s the first time the Puerto Rican singer/actress and Cuban hip hop star have teamed up following their 2011 collaboration, “On The Floor.”

J.Lo has been busy with a slew of music-related endeavors: in addition to her work as a coach on “American Idol’ and “Q’Viva,” she’s also announced Monday that for the first time ever, she’ll be performing in Brazil with headlining performances at the Pop Music Festival on Sao Paulo Brazil on June 23 and in Rio de Janeiro on June 27.

Laz Alonso set to star in new prime-time series

Lazaro Alonso, whose charming smile you may remember from “Breakout Kings,” “Fast & Furious,” and “Jarhead,” has been tapped to star opposite Megan Good in a new NBC television drama. The Cuban-American actor will play an NYPD detective Will Sacovitch who teams up with Good – as detective Joanna Locasto – to solve a tragic murder.

It’s the first time the budding star has played a lead television role, but there’s no doubt the 38-year old Howard University graduate will find himself at home with a host of new show fans.
