Kids save toddler swept away in California canal

A 2-year-old out swept down a canal behind her Farmersville, California home was saved when four young neighbors rushed to her rescue.  Alice Aviles is resting comfortably next to mom at Kaweah Delta hospital in Visalia. Four young men, ages 8 to 17, saw Alice drifting down the canal and ran after her.  Eight-year-old Roberto Vazquez said he first thought the little girl was a doll. She was unconscious when they pulled her out, but regained consciousness a short while later. “For her to be here, it’s wonderful,” said mother Jessica Aviles. KSEE’s Jobin Panicker reports.
