It looks like the 15th season of the hit show “Dancing with the Stars” will feature some suave samba moves, thanks to the addition of Hélio Castroneves to its all-star cast.
Castroneves, a 37-year-old auto racing driver with three-time Indianapolis 500 championships to date, is one of a list of familiar faces returning to the show’s all-star season of fan favorites and past winners. Castroneves, who was born in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil, won Season 5 of the ABC show with the help of dance partner Julianne Hough.
“I am so excited to be on ‘Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars,’” said Castroneves in a press release announcing his participation on the show’s upcoming season.
“Winning the Mirror Ball trophy was an unbelievable experience and I’m very honored that the show has asked me back to compete again this season,” he said. “I know it’s going to be a lot of hard work, but also a lot of fun. I can’t wait to start dancing again.”
Former “Dancing with the Stars” personalities Pamela Anderson, Kelly Monaco, Melissa Rycroft, Joey Fatone, Drew Lachey, Bristol Palin, and Kirstie Alley will be joining Castroneves on the new season, which begins Sept. 24. As for the lucky lady that Castroneves will be paired up with, hold your breath, because pairings won’t be announced until Aug. 13.
