In Venezuela, at least 25 people were killed, and 43 others injured, after a riot broke out in a prison while hundreds of relatives were visiting inmates on Sunday. Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa said this week that the United Kingdom would be committing diplomatic suicide if they were to arrest Julian Assange inside the Ecuadorian embassy in London.  Also, clashes between protesting students and police continued in Chile today – where dozens of students were arrested after protests turned violent across the city of Santiago.
