In Mexico, authorities announced the arrest of the man they think is Jorge Costilla, one of the country’s most wanted drug trafficker – known as “El Coss.” Costilla is wanted by both Mexican and US authorities on drug trafficking charges. Also in Venezuela, popular Mexican singer, Vicente Fernandez, caused a stir in Mexico after visiting Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez at the presidential palace in Miraflores. Chavez awarded the singer with one of Venezuela’s highest honors. And peace and quiet is returning to Ciudad Juarez in Mexico where residents say employment and local businesses have been improving over the years. The city was once considered the one of the most violent in Mexico.
