Latin Grammy nominees are out, and Juan Luis Guerra leads with six

The nominations for the 13th Annual Latin Grammy Awards were announced today at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles, and Dominican singer, Juan Luis Guerra, tops the charts with six nominations.

Mexican pop duo, Jesse & Joy, isn’t far behind with five nods; Ricardo Arjona, Edgar Barrera, Juanes, Carla Morrison, Arturo Sandoval, Ivete Sangalo, and 2012 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year, Caetano Veloso, are up for four awards; Chico Buarque, ChocQuibTown, Don Omar, Rafael Dragaud, Gregg Field, Javier Garza, Gilberto Gil, Ulises Hadjis, Roberto Talma, and Martin Terefe, are among those who each received three nominations.

Guerra, who has sold over 30 million records, is no stranger to awards. Throughout his career, he has won 12 Latin Grammy Awards, two Grammy Awards, and two Latin Billboard Music Awards. He won three Latin Grammy Awards in 2010, including Album of the Year. This year, he is running against newcomer Gaby Moreno and Ricardo Arjona for Record of the Year.

The Latin Grammy Awards will be presented on November 15 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and will be broadcast live on Univision.
