Cafecito: America’s Top Model Jaslene Gonzalez believes fashion can build self-esteem

Welcome to Cafecito! Each week we will have a lively, candid conversation with prominent Latinos who shape our community – artists, politicians, actors, achievers and thinkers. Set at the legendary Nuyorican Poets Café in Manhattan’s Lower East Side, we will have a relaxed conversation over a cafecito about their personal and professional lives as Latinos in America.

On this episode of Cafecito…winner of America’s Next Top Model – Season 8, Jaslene Gonzalez. More than just a pretty face, Jaslene has outgrown her reality-television fame to become an international fashion star while continuing to give back to her community. We caught up with the Chicago-raised Puerto Rican beauty, while she was participating in New York Fashion Week and working with her charity, Real Women, Real Fashion, which provides victims of domestic violence with an opportunity to build self-esteem on the runway.
