Mexico is outraged that a 16 year-old Mexican teenager was shot dead by a U.S. Border Patrol agent. The agent opened fire on a group of teens who were throwing rocks across the border. Mexico is demanding a full investigation. Chilean students and police clashed after thousands of activists marched for education reform. A group of hooded students threw rocks at police who retaliated with water canons and tear gas. In Colombia, thousands of indigenous people are demanding a role in peace talks between the government and rebels to end a five decade war. Much of the war has been fought on the ancestral land of the indigenous people. And Colombia’s navy intercepted a Nicaraguan ship they claim would not leave contested waters despite 24 hour notice. Nicaragua heatedly disputed the claim, saying the ship was on a scientific expedition.
