Mario Lopez can add yet another television show credit to his impressive resume with the news that he will officially be joining “The X Factor” as co-host alongside Khloé Kardashian Odom.
“Alright guys, it’s official… I’ll be hosting @TheXFactorUSA!” The “Extra” anchor tweeted Tuesday. “Looking forward to working with @SimonCowell and the rest of the amazing team.”
Kardashian Odom also confirmed the news, tweeting “The rumors are true… I will be hosting @TheXFactorUSA this season!!”
The big announcement comes weeks after rumors had circulated about the “Saved by the Bell” star teaming up with Kardashian Odom as new co-hosts in place of season one host Steve Jones.
Lopez and his “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” celebrity co-host will make their primetime debut when the live performance round of shows begins in November.
With the addition of Lopez to the FOX singing competition, the show is chock-full of Latino star presence thanks to Marc Anthony as celebrity mentor and teen sensation Demi Lovato at the judge’s table.
And Lopez has more than one reason to celebrate: it’s just been announced that he will be exchanging vows with fiancée Courtney Mazza in a made-for-TV special that will air on TLC on Dec. 8.
“Courtney and I already feel incredibly blessed to have found each other and thank God for our beautiful daughter Gia,” Lopez said in a statement. “Our family is looking forward to celebrating our wedding later this year.”
