Over 700,000 demonstrators took to the streets of Buenos Aires to protest President Fernandez’s policies. Protestors banged pots and pans, demanding less crime and an end to inflation. In Peru, four people are dead and thousands sick in the latest outbreak of dengue fever. About 4,700 people have been diagnosed with dengue. Public health officials have begun fumigation efforts to kill mosquitoes with the illness. In Colombia, 10 farmers were killed by assassins who used guns and grenades. Police say the murders were payback because the farm owner failed to pay a bribe demanded by a local gang. And in the Dominican Republic, a 21 year-old medical student was fatally shot during a student protest against increased taxes. Witnesses claim that the student was shot by police.
