Hundreds of protesters in Mexico demanded the release of prisoners detained on President Enrique Peña Nieto’s inauguration day. The demonstrators were arrested after clashes with police.  And President Hugo Chavez is planning a visit to Brazil for a regional summit on Friday despite undergoing cancer treatment. The visit would dispel doubts about the leader’s health. Two Mexican men have been charged with killing a U.S. Coast guard after ramming into his boat off the southern California coast. The Coast Guard was chasing drug smugglers.  A massive shipment of aid is being sent from Venezuela to victims of Hurricane Sandy in Haiti and Cuba  The shipment is full of a quarter million packages of school supplies.
