Police are investigating the cause of the plane crash that killed cross-border singing sensation Jenni Rivera. The plane crashed outside of Monterrey, Mexico. She was 43. Venezuela’s president Hugo Chavez flew to Cuba this morning to undergo surgery for cancer. He named vice president Nicolas Maduro as his potential successor. This is his fourth cancer surgery since 2011.  Mexico’s Juan Manuel Marquez knocked out Philippines boxer Manny Pacquaio on Saturday in a match in Las Vegas. This was their fourth match-up. Argentina’s Lionel Messi broke the record for goals scored in a year on Sunday in a game against Real Betis for a total of 86 . He broke the previous record of 85 made by Gerd Mueller.
