Mexico president Enrique Peña Nieto said he will create a new 10,000 strong police force to combat drugs. Their focus will be reducing crime and violence that impacts ordinary Mexicans. 26 people died and 15 were injured after a bus crash in Colombia. The driver survived and said the brakes failed. Around 5,000 people die from traffic accidents in Colombia each year. Also in Colombia , civilians joined in land reform talks held by the U.N. yesterday . This marks the first time since October civilians have participated in the peace talks between the FARC and the government. Droves of tourists prompted by the Mayan prediction that the world will end are heading to a Mexico town called Xul, which means “the end” in Mayan. Descendants of Mayans insist the world is not ending.
