Congratulations are in order, as Demi Lovato and Christina Aguilera each scooped up awards at the People’s Choice Awards ceremony Wednesday night in Los Angeles. The annual event – held this year at the Nokia Theater – allows fans to select their favorite personalities in categories across music, film and television.
While a whopping ten Latinos were nominated for awards this year – including Sofia Vergara for “Favorite Comedic TV Actress,” Jennifer Lopez for “Favorite Celebrity Judge and “Favorite Actress in a Comedic Movie,” as well as Pitbull for “Favorite Hip Hop Artist” – only Demi Lovato and Christina Aguilera took home awards. Lovato won for “Favorite Celebrity Judge” while Aguilera was honored with an award for “People’s Voice.”
Other big winners of the night included “The Hunger Games,” which took home five awards, and Katy Perry, who was named both favorite female artist and pop artist. Her music video ‘Part of Me” was named a favorite, while actress Sandra Bullock took home the ceremony’s very first humanitarian award for her post-Katrina work in New Orleans. Personalities like Rocsi Diaz attended the awards ceremony. Also in attendance? So-called zombies, who danced a routine to smash hit “Gangnam Style.”
Brazilian beauty Morena Baccarin stunned on the red carpet in a simple white pantsuit accented with beaded detailing. Stars like Olivia Munn weren’t so fortunate when it came to their wardrobe choices, as Munn nearly suffered from a nip slip with the plunging neckline of her dress.
