Food blogs we love: Delicious Shots

Who’s blogging: My name is Najwa Kronfel. I’m the mom of the cutest boy, a baker, food photographer and stylist with a big passion for food. I love seasonal ingredients, farmers’ markets and I am a cookbook junkie. I want people to know that it can be easy to create beautiful and delicious dishes using fresh ingredients.

Explain your blog name: The name “Delicious Shots” came from a photo shoot. While going through the photos I took that day, I saw one that really caught my attention and I said out loud, “that’s a delicious shot” Then I looked at my husband and I told him, “that’s it, that will be the name of my blog.” As a self-taught food photographer, I put a lot of pressure on myself by naming my blog Delicious Shots as I was at the moment learning about it and I felt like I had to do justice to the name. I love challenges and here I am.

Blogging since: 2010

Blogging from: I’m based in New York. To me, the best place to experience food diversity.

Kronfel is a professional food stylist and photographer whose work makes her blog deliciously irresistible.

Most popular post: I would have to say an strawberry-orange sorbet I made last year with over 240,000 visits to that post alone.

What you’ve learned about food while blogging: Food is a never-ending subject. I’ve learned to be playful with ingredients, I’m not afraid to mix and match, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. That’s part of the experience of cooking, finding out what works best for you. I’ve also learned to not let a dish intimidate me. If I want to cook something I have never cooked before, I just do it. Worst case scenario is that it won’t taste good, so I will try it again and again until I’m satisfied with the result.

Where do you get inspiration for your posts? I like to cook with seasonal ingredients so I start from there. Then, of course, internet, there are a lot of sites with beautiful photos that inspire me. Magazines, cookbooks, seasons, weather even mood. But the most important source of inspiration is my son. I want him to be exposed to all kinds of flavors, spices, textures, grains, vegetables etc.

What have you learned from blogging? The power of the internet and how my photos and recipes reach all parts of the world always amazes me. I always knew about the vastness of the internet but I really learned its magnitude through blogging.

Where else can we find you online? You can visit my portfolio where you can find more of my work. You can also find me on TwitterFacebookInstagram and Pinterest.

What are your favorite food blogs? I love La Receta de la Felicidad and Nicole Franzen’s blog.
