Gerard Piqué shares first photo of new baby with Shakira

Just two days old and already so stylish! Gerard Piqué – who welcomed son Milan Piqué Mebarak on Tuesday – is making sure his son rocks the hottest gear, tweeting a picture of Milan wearing new Nike sneakers customized with his name.

“Milan’s feet!” tweeted the proud dad, who posted the picture via Twitter on Wednesday. The picture shows the new baby from the knees down, looking oh-so-chubby and adorable in the oversized kicks.

While new mom Shakira has stayed quiet since delivering baby Milan on Tuesday, Piqué hasn’t been shy about his delight over his first-born son.

“It is a unique moment,” the 25-year-old soccer star told reporters outside a Barcelona hospital earlier this week. Piqué – who admitted both he and Shakira cried with happiness about the new arrival – also said that the baby shares his good looks, telling the media that “they said he has my lips but we will see.”

And if one thing’s for sure, Milan is definitely wearing his new sneakers in preparation for his career as a soccer star.

“Just like his father, baby Milan became a member of FC Barcelona at birth,” reads the statement announcing the baby’s birth on Shakira’s official website.

While Piqué will undoubtedly share his love of soccer with his son, Shakira — who has own her charitable foundation and has been a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 2003 — has already made it clear that she intends to pass down her love of philanthropy to the newborn. Just before his birth, she and Piqué asked fans to donate gifts to their virtual baby shower on behalf of underprivileged children worldwide.

The philanthropic project, coined “Shakira & Gerard Piqué’s World Baby Shower to Help UNICEF Save Children’s Lives,” allows donors to choose from a number of “Inspired Gifts,” which include a baby scale ($37), polio vaccine ($10) or even a $5 malaria net, all of which will be donated to children in need.
