Mexican authorities arrested several detainees for investigation in connection with the gang rape of six Spaniard tourists.  They said two of those detained are being questioned in connection with another rape case. A Carnival cruise ship carrying four thousand people caught on fire and is now stranded in the Gulf of Mexico. Two tugboats will tow the vessel to the nearest harbor in Progreso. Six people were killed in Peru when torrential rains caused massive flooding in the city of Arequipa. Around one thousand homes were flooded as well. A Chilean judge ordered investigators to exhume the remains of Pablo Neruda to determine whether he was poisoned. The Nobel prize-winning poet died in 1973 shortly after Augusto Pinochet’s military coup.
