Michael Marín Rivera, the son of late singer Jenni Rivera, was arrested in Miami for minor acts of vandalism, according to Telemundo. Police records show that Rivera – whose legal name is Trinidad Angelo Marin – was charged with criminal mischief, with bail set at $1,000.
The damage caused was estimated to be between $200 and $1,000.
Rivera is Jenni’s eldest son with her first husband, José Trinidad Marín. This isn’t the 22-year-old’s first brush with the law, as he was arrested in 2010 on sexual molestations charges in 2010. Accused of having sex with a minor, he posted a $50,000 bail and was released shortly after.
No further details regarding Rivera’s arrest on Thursday have been made public and Rivera’s family has yet to release a statement regarding the matter.
The rest of the Rivera family is also in Miami tonight at the 25th Anniversary of Premio Lo Nuestro awards show where Rivera was posthumously nominated for five Premio Lo Nuestro awards this year. In addition for being nominated for awards including Pop Album of the Year, Rivera was to be honored in a special tribute.

News of Rivera’s arrest follows the announcement that a memoir written by the singer, who passed away at the age of 43 in a plane crash last December, will be published this summer. Rivera had been working on the book over the last several years and had completed it before her death.
“I miss my sister at every moment, but on days that I want to feel her close, I open her book written in her own words, and feel her right next to me,” her sister Rosie Rivera said in a statement issued by Atria, the Simon & Schuster imprint that will release the memoir.
