A human rights organization has released a report accusing members of Mexico’s security forces of participating in 140 disappearances in a six year period. The Human Rights Watch group documented 250 disappearances during the term of former President Felipe Calderon. Also, police in Mexico captured a fugitive wanted for the murder of his ex-girlfriend in Chicago more than a decade ago. In Ecuador, President Rafael Correa joined other officials for the inauguration of a new international airport in Quito, the country’s capital. The multi-million dollar airport is believed to have the longest runway in Latin America.
