Latina rapper, Becky G, brings her “swagger” to COVERGIRL

COVERGIRL cosmetics announced their newest face, Mexican-American starlet Becky G.

“Becky G is a powerful and charismatic model and from a young age she has advocated for individualism and respect for where one comes from and where one is headed,” said Esi Eggleston Bacey, VP and General Manager of COVERGIRL cosmetics in a press release. “She is an intelligent, ambitious and strong young woman that knows exactly who she is and what she wants to accomplish in life, these are some of the qualities that COVERGIRL loves. Becky is an emerging star and we are very happy to welcome her to the COVERGIRL family.”

The 16- year old Latina rapper took to twitter this morning to announce to her fans the big news.

Becky G has a lot of “swagger” and is determined to celebrate being unique by launching different “looks” in the upcoming months of COVERGIRLS most recent products which include, COVERGIRL Flamed Out Mascara, Lipslicks Smoochies Lip Balm and COVERGIRL’s Outlast Stay Brilliant Glosstini.

The young urban star is signed with KEMOsabe/RCA records, a Sony Music Entertainment music label founded by the famous Dr. Luke. She was discovered while doing an original rap set to Jay-Z and Kayne West’s “Otis,” on YouTube.

The Los Angeles native has a hit song has hit 4 million views on VEVO, “Becky from the Block,” which also features a cameo of Jennifer Lopez in the music video.  She also announced that on July 16th she will be releasing her EP called, “Play it Again,” which include songs with Latino stars such as Mr. Worldwide, Pitbull.
