Jenni Rivera fans will soon have a new way to toast the memory of la Diva de la Banda.
“La Gran Señora,” a new limited edition tequila line in the name of Rivera, will hit the shelves in the United States and Mexico in less than a month reported People in Español. The tequila will be marketed with Rivera’s image, showing the banda singer with her head tilted down on the front of the bottle.
According to Rivera’s sister Rosie, Jenni was involved in everything from the taste, to the design of the bottle before the December 2012 plane crash that killed her. Rosie told People that the upcoming tequila was “planned, tasted, and approved for you.”
Fans were used to seeing Rivera drink tequila while performing and on her mun2 reality show “I Love Jenni.”
The news of the tequila line comes less than a month after the launch of her autobiography “Unbreakable.” Rivera had been working on her autobiography before she died, scribbling chapters about her life in a notebook between concerts and time spent with her five children. The book was released on July 2nd — what would have been Rivera’s 44th birthday.
Rivera’s family also plans to honor the Mexican-American superstar through a fashion line, including jeans and jewelry, reported People en Español.
“She dreamed of making Jenni Rivera Boutique. Therefore, soon we’ll have it for you. Her line of Jenni Jeans, perfumes, jewelry, and makeup will be available in the United States, Mexico, and we dream of reaching the entire world to continue with what she started,” Rosie Rivera said.
