Carlos Vives wants you to drink up as new “got milk” campaign spokesman

Musician Carlos Vives is known for rocking out but for his latest gig, he’s going wholesome as the face of the latest “got milk?” Hispanic campaign.

The Colombian artist , who has sold more than 17 million albums worldwide, rocks a milk mustache – or bigote, as it’s known in Spanish – in ads for the campaign, touting nutrient-rich milk as his go-to beverage during his busy lifestyle.

“I love to drink an ice cold glass of milk with breakfast.  It gives me protein and other nutrients I need and energy to help me get through my morning and prepare for my performances,” said Vives in a release announcing the new campaign.  “You could say that like milk, I’m powered by protein.”

Vives – who has won one Grammy and four Latin Grammys – is also a father of four, making him the perfect success to mother and actress Salma Hayek, who was the face of The National Milk Mustache “Got Milk?” campaign in 2012.

Ads featuring the 51-year-old musician will appear in national Hispanic magazines next month.
