Tennis powerhouse Serena Williams has proven herself as one of the sport’s reigning legends as she earned the title of U.S. Open women’s champion on Sunday.
Williams won the U.S. Open women’s title – for the fifth time! – in a breathtaking match against competitor Victoria Azarenka. The 31-year-old had the support of hundreds of fans at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City and among them were Latino super fans Ricky Martin and actress Eva Longoria. They tweeted their excitement over Williams’ big win.

While it’s hardly a surprise that Martin and Longoria know each other – after all, Latino Hollywood is only so big – who knew that they were besties? The Mexican-American actress/producer shared a photo of the pair cheering together in the stadium bleachers and in another photo shared by Martin, were pictured together on the event’s blue carpet.
“Go @serenawiliams US Open champion!!!!! Me and @ricky_martin celebrating!” tweeted Longoria. And Martin took his admiration of Williams one step further, sharing a photo of himself holding Williams’s U.S. Open trophy.
“I got a present. Lol Mira lo que me regalaron,” tweeted Martin regarding his temporary takeover of Williams’ massive trophy.
