Who’s blogging: My name is Natalia Carter and I was born and raised in Colombia, although I now consider myself a ¨citizen of the world.¨ I spent some time in Spain and then after finishing college, I moved to Australia to study English. Then, I decided to live in L.A., a city that I loved at first sight. It’s been a love affair from the beginning, so I decided to begin a blog about my experience in this city and reviewing all the different places I visited.
Explain your blog name: My blog is called Comiendo en LA, which means ¨eating in LA.¨ I cover everything foodie-related in Los Angeles and I also post my own recipes and restaurant reviews.
Blogging since: I started blogging in 2010.
Blogging from: I usually blog from my home in Los Angeles or on my way to work on the train.
Most popular post: My most popular post is a a very traditional Colombian recipe called: plátanos maduros al horno rellenos de queso y crema - sweet plantains stuffed with cheese and cream.
What you’ve learned about food while blogging: My passion with food started when I was little. I was always fascinated by how a dish can change your mood. And I love how one thing all people have in common is food – you can always start a conversation by talking about it!
Where do you get inspiration for your posts: I get inspired by eating at different restaurants. I also love watching food programming on television and reading food magazines.
What you’ve learned from blogging: I have learned A LOT! When I started my blog, I barely knew about blogging platforms like WordPress. I built my social accounts from the ground up, learning how to be active and share my content. I’ve also learned about how to write for the web, take food photos and read analytics. But the most important thing I’ve gained are true friends with a common passion, food.
