After telling E! News last week that she was circling a “small independent movie,” the singer-actress has reportedly come aboard to costar with Antonio Banderas in the Chilean Miner drama The 33.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, which first broke the news, Lopez’s participation marks her first big-screen foray since The Parker, her action thriller with Jason Statham.

The store – complete with low orange stools, a flat screen television broadcasting Lopez’ music videos, a fully bilingual staff and a play area for kids – opened Tuesday right across from the Barclays Center, an indoor arena that opened in 2012 with celebrity investors including Jay-Z.

The new store is intended to be the flagship of Lopez’s new chain of Viva Móvil stores in partnership with Verizon Wireless. More Viva Móvil stores are expected to open in Spanish-speaking neighborhoods across New York City this summer.

Lopez – who hails from the Bronx, New York – will also open stores in Miami and Los Angeles later this year.

“We have designed our stores with the way Latinos shop and this is for them,” Lopez told NBC Latino of her newest business venture. “That’s where the future is.”

And Lopez’s partnership with Verizon isn’t the only thing keeping the 43-year-old star in the news. She made headlines on Thursday evening with her skin-tight blue Tom Ford gown for the fourth annual amfAR inspiration Gala New York and is expected to turn heads again when she receives her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in a high-profile ceremony to commemorate her contributions to music on June 20 in Los Angeles.

The “Living La Vida Loca” singer has been busy in Australia taping “The Voice Australia” but found the time to collaborate with the famed Aussie Production Team, DNA, with whom he produced his new single, “Come With Me.”

The single’s popularity is already spreading quickly across Australian radio stations and is set to be released in the U.S on June 14. ”Come with Me” promises to be a sneak peek of Martin’s new album, which the 41-year-old will begin working on this summer following the conclusion of “The Voice – Australia” next week.

And it looks like Martin doesn’t intend to take any type of summer vacation once his time on Australia’s #1 rated show is over: he is slated to release a new children’s book soon and is currently developing a new dramedy for NBC Universal, all before kicking off a tour in Australia this October.

“I actually wear a lot of leather on the red carpet,” the Mexican actress shared with InStyle magazine. “My husband loves when I wear it.”

And although Hayek regularly stuns on the red carpet –recent looks include designs by uber-fashionable designers like Alexander McQueen and Bottega Veneta – she admits she isn’t “really a fashionista.”

“I have an eye; I can pull it together,” Hayek told InStyle. “But a lot of the effort I make is for my husband because I want him to be attracted to me.”

Hayek – who graces the July cover of InStyle in a sexy, backless red gown – has been married to Pinault, a French businessman, since 2009. The two consider Paris, France home and have a daughter together, five-year-old Valentina.

Hayek, who earned an Oscar nomination for her performance in 2002’s “Frida,” shared that while she embraces growing older (she’s 47!) she refuses to give up wearing her favorite styles.

“When I turned 40, I started thinking, ‘This is the last year,’ whenever I’d wear a strapless dress,” she said. “I always thought you can’t wear them after a certain age, but I’m still getting away with it.”

After all, says Hayek, “I think if you are afraid of getting older, you age faster.” And that’s a mentality she shares as a bit of wisdom for Latinas the world over.

“You’ve got to take who you are and love who you are and do the best you can with what you’ve got,” explained Hayek.

“That goes for the figure, and it goes for everything else. You’ve got to have a sense of humor about who you are and give yourself a break. You’ve got to be kind to yourself. And it’s not easy, you know?”

A newly-slimmed-down Aguilera – who will be resuming her time in the red coach’s chair next season, taking over from current coach Shakira – will take the stage with Pitbull in a duet performance of “Feel This Moment.”

And the powerhouse duo won’t be the only Latinos to take the stage during the finale: Mars will also be featured during “The Voice” finale, singing “Treasure,” the newest single from his album “Unorthodox Jukebox.”

Mars’ performance was recorded in May, weeks before his mother, Bernadette Hernandez passed away from a brain aneurysm.

Country crooners Florida Georgia Line and rapper Nelly will also take the stage during the season finale, joining forces to sing their single “Cruise.”

And last but not least? Singer Cher, who will perform live –  her first live television performance in more than a decade.

The fourth season of “The Voice” – featuring new coaches Shakira, Usher and returning coaches Blake Shelton and Adam Levine – has been the most successful to date for NBC, beating “American Idol” among audiences for the first time ever in May.

The announcement about Aguilera’s live performance on “The Voice” coincides with the news that Shakira is no longer represented on the show: viewers voted out Team Shakira contestant Sasha Allen and Team Adam’s Amber Carrington on Tuesday night’s semifinals show, leaving Usher and Shelton to compete for a victory.

Longoria will voice the character of Isabel, a brainiac in whom Lisa finds her match.

“I play Isabel, a new student who is finally Lisa’s intellectual equal,” Longoria told TV Guide. “They ­become fast friends, and then things take a left turn when they realize they have different political views. This is a big stretch for me not only because it’s voice work, which I rarely do, but also [because] I’m playing a Republican and I’m obviously a Democrat.”

The 38-year-old – who just earned a master’s degree in Chicano studies – is no stranger to animated features, giving life to a frantic mom on the go in the cartoon comedy “Mother Up!”, which premiered this season on Canadian television.

Longoria’s big reveal as Lisa on “The Simpsons” will take place on the upcoming season of the show, which begins later this year.

“Don’t Mess With Texas” will feature Vergara and Witherspoon as a police officer and “prisoner on the run” from less-than-righteous cops in Texas, shares Deadline. The film, acquired by Universal Pictures in “a spirited bidding battle,” will begin production in March 2014 and no details have been announced as to which actress will take up which role.

The two comedians – Vergara has earned national recognition for her portrayal of Gloria Delgado on “Modern Family” and Witherspoon first received comedic cred in 2001’s “Legally Blonde” – are an unlikely pairing at first sight, but the casting news does seem to hold the promise of huge returns at the box office.

Despite Witherspoon’s recent DUI arrest, the 37-year-old is one of the Hollywood’s most sought-after actresses, delivering nearly four dollars at the box office for “every dollar she was paid,” reported Forbes last year. And Vergara, 40, is in a position to give Witherspoon a run for her money. The Colombian star took home an estimated $19 million dollars last year, making her the highest earning actress on American television – and a household name not only among Latinos but across mainstream audiences as well.

With that in mind, “Don’t Mess With Texas” will couple Vergara with the on-screen star power that could make her a bonafide film star, an area that Vergara has yet to conquer with bit parts to date in films like “The Smurfs” and “New Year’s Eve.” Even so, Vergara does seem to be ramping up her acting credits beyond “Modern Family,” as she’s set to star in an upcoming telenovela, as well “Machete Kills” and “Smurfs 2.”

The reality show – shown on NBC sister network Telemundo – is in the hold-your-breath stage, where judges will do their best to convince young talent that their team is the one to join. Once the blind auditions are over (last chance to get the best talent!, the judges will develop their team’s talent with the help of celebrity coaches – Rubio has already invited Luis Fonsi, while Frankie J and Olga Tañon are Team Prince Royce and Roberto Tapia, respectively – and go to battle in several rounds of sing-offs as they vie for a recording contract  just like on NBC’s “The Voice.”

But this is one show where Latinos are the star, both at the judge’s table and as contestants, who are all between the ages of 7 and 14. And music talent show seems to be resonating with Hispanic audiences: as the last week’s episode was the season’s highest rated to date with more than 2 million viewers.
