The eleven year old mariachi singer earned a roaring ovation after singing the national anthem at Game 4 of the NBA Finals- donning his mariachi outfit once again. His first rendition of the national anthem at Game 3 of the NBA Finals set off a barrage of racially charged tweets on Tuesday. Some on the social media site made disparaging and negative comments about the Latino boy, incorrectly accusing him of being an undocumented immigrant and saying he should not be singing the National Anthem.

The young singer was congratulated by San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich and Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra at midcourt after his performance. According to the Associated Press, Popovich bemoaned “idiots” who posted bigoted comments. He called De La Cruz “a class act.”

His second act followed an outpouring of support after the critical tweets first surfaced.

Celebrities and politicians alike rallied behind De La Cruz. San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro introduced the boy Thursday night at the game. Eva Longoria tweeted her support for the young star nicknamed El Charro De Oro:

But while De La Cruz’s bullies may have sparked an online firestorm, the young San Antonio native isn’t letting it faze him. He told the local station WOAI that he wasn’t bothered at all by the comments.

“I knew that one day when I sing, people were going to judge me,” said Sebastien. “And that’s why, over the time that I have grown, you don’t really care about what people say about you. It’s about what you think about yourself.”

The Twitter comments about De La Cruz were first compiled by the Tumblr Public Shaming. Fans of the tiny mariachi singer immediately rushed to his defense, causing many of De La Cruz’s harsh critics to delete their Twitter accounts. His Facebook page also lit up with praises of his performance and messages of support.

The young mariachi appeared on a San Antonio local Fox station after his performance and responded to the backlash.

“My father was actually in the Navy for a pretty long time and I actually salute him today for that. People don’t know they just assume that I’m just Mexican, but I’m not from Mexico,” he said. ” I’m from San Antonio born and raised a true Spurs fan.”

He also tweeted:

De La Cruz appeared on “America’s Got Talent” last year.

The concert ‘Sound of Change’ is in support of Chime for Change, a global campaign set up to help empower girls and women around the world. Beyonce headlined the show, which was held at Twickenham rugby stadium in London on Saturday.

“I am a soloist — I travel all over the world with different bands,” says Miranda, sounding as young and energetic as ever. “I perform all over the world.”

He says he recently started an international tour, celebrating his 45-year musical career until January. This weekend, he will be flying to Los Angeles from his home in Puerto Rico to join thousands of salsa lovers at the 15th Annual International LA Salsa Congress, featuring classic band members from Grupo Niche, El Gran Combo, and the band he joined more than four decades ago — Fania All Stars.

“I’ll be performing with Oscar Hernandez’ band on Saturday,” says Miranda, explaining that only he, Larry Harlow and Adalberto Santiago will be performing from the legendary All Stars. “It’s been a while since I’ve performed with Larry.”

He says Harlow now has his own band as well, but their history goes way back.

“When I started working with Larry, that’s when I started composing,” says Miranda, who was 19 when he joined Fania Records.

“We were together for about four years, and we did nine or eight albums. I was really grateful for that. He was a very important part of my career.”

He says it was because of Harlow discovering him that he was ever a part of Fania All Stars and of the 1972 film, “Our Latin Thing,” and got the role of Hector Lavoe’s father in “El Cantante” (2006).

He often recalls the memories of their international trips to Africa and Europe.

“We went all over the world,” says Miranda. “Fania is the most important band in the history of salsa music. Salsa is never going to stop. It’s been around all of our lives.”

Despite what others might think, he is adamant that the salsa genre is still as popular as ever.

“With the Salsa Congress, all the young people are dancing salsa in Europe, Asia, and in Central and South America,” says Miranda. “Everybody is dancing salsa in the United States. We are traveling all over the world, and there are millions of young people dancing — I think it’s on the upside — it’s one of the rhythms that’s most called for in the world.”

Jimmy Bosch, a younger trombonist who participated in several Fania sessions, and who will be performing with the band this Saturday, agrees.

“It’s hard to put a finger on what it was that made seventies salsa so special,” Jimmy Bosch, a younger trombonist who participated in several Fania sessions and will be performing with the band this Saturday, told Rolling Stone. “It was the times, too – everything that was going on socially and politically. People like me, who discovered that music then, we’ve never steered away from it.”

Miranda says there’s a lot of young performers to look out for such as, Victor Manuelle and Frankie Negron.

“Right now there’s like about 10 bands in South America,” he adds. “The music is not going to stop. There’s a lot of young guys, and they all do a good job.”

This is his third time performing at the Salsa Congress, and he says he’s excited to see his old friends and sing his favorite tunes, including “Maria Luisa,” “Asi se compone un son” and “No me diga que es muy tarde ya.”

And although, he’s nearing retirement age, he says he’s working more now than ever before.

“I started my own recording company,” says Miranda about IM Records. “I do my own booking in my own offices. I do my own albums and everything. I don’t have to retire — I’m still having a nice time.”

“The crazy thing is, when you’re performing and you’re just kind of into it, you never know where it’s gonna go and where you’re gonna go with it, and how that might turn out,” Miguel told Billboard of his show choreography gone wrong.  ”So this is one of the less favorable moments.”

Even so, the 27-year-old singer was apologetic towards the fan whom he injured, tweeting his apology.

“Got caught up in the moment, thank goodness Khyati is ok,” tweeted the R&B star, who had been performing his hit tune “Adorn” when the accident occurred.

While Miguel may not have taken home an award – he had been a contender for “Top R&B” song, ultimately losing to Rihanna – he certainly earned his fair share of air time, thanks to his on-stage debacle. The hash tag #Miguel became one of the top five trends on Twitter and the dramatic dropkick went viral on Vine, YouTube and Google+.

The incident also became the subject of numerous memes, all poking fun at what’s sure to become a top moment in pop culture history.

And it looks like there was no serious damage done to Khyati, who not only received a public apology from the star but also received one-on-one time with him backstage afterwards.

“I’m very happy to bring my new friend, Khyati, we just met,” Miguel said when interviewed backstage while Khyati was icing her arm. “Unfortunately, we did not meet under the best circumstances, but I think we’re okay.”

And it looks like Khyati was just thrilled to have had her time with Miguel – no matter what the circumstances.

“I Adorn him,” she told Billboard.

The 26-year-old actress/singer was pictured sitting casually in a blue chair outdoors, with her wet hair in curls and soft makeup. Posing nude sans accessories of any kind – with the exception of a tiny tattoo on her right foot – the “Glee” star looked relaxed in the shots taken in her birthday suit.

Rivera – who has played Santana on “Glee” since the series began in 2009 – told the beauty magazine she wasn’t nervous about the nude photos shoot.

“I’m excited to see it—and it’s going to be available to the world,” she told the magazine, which also shot Jennifer Morrison, Clare Bowen and Christa Allen in the nude.

But it seems like the starlet wasn’t always so comfortable in her skin, revealing that only with time has she become more confident. When asked about her time pre-“Glee” – when she worked as a “Hooters” waitress – the actress said “I have nightmares about that job, period. When I was working there, I was really skinny — a lot skinnier than I am now. But I was always self-conscious.”

But now with success, everything’s changed. Rivera is now a full-fledged sex symbol (with loads of lesbian fans thanks to her “Glee” character, who famously came clean about her sexuality episode) and told Allure that her female fans make her “feel like a badass.” And the end result? Rivera says she gets more female attention than her new boyfriend, Big Sean.

“I get more girls than my boyfriend,” Rivera shared with Allure. “They always tweet me about my booty.”

But if there’s one thing to take away from Rivera’s stripped-down interview, it’s her words of wisdom to her fans everywhere.

“You can’t be so hard on yourself that you’re not enjoying every day.”

The premiere of the hit show’s third season – which featured previously unseen footage of Rivera filmed just before her death in a plane crash in Mexico – delivered a total of 366,000 viewers, which according to Nielsen, made it #1 in its Sunday 9pm time period. The episode, titled “Top of Her Game,” also yielded the network’s largest-ever female audience, with approximately 189,000 adult women tuning into see the popular banda singer in action.

News of the overwhelmingly high ratings for “I Love Jenni” follows the news that Rivera’s life will be the focus of a new exhibit at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, California. The exhibit, titled “Jenni Rivera, La Gran Señora,” will feature an in-depth look at the singer’s personal life and career, and will include personal artifacts including several of Rivera’s stage costumes, her Bible, handwritten notes,  and family photos.

“It’s a great honor for me and my siblings Jacqie, Michael, Jenicka and Johnny to be able to share such sacred items of our mother with her fans, the ones that made her,” said Rivera’s daughter Janney “Chiquis” Marin said in a statement issued by the museum.

The exhibit will open Mother’s Day – May 12 – and coincides with the renewed interest in the singer following her death that to date, has resulted in the publication of several biographies and increased album sales.

It was that kind of night for Lazaro Arbos, the last “Idol” man standing. And he won’t be around much longer if viewers paid attention to the desperate pleading from the judges Wednesday. They did everything but get down on their knees and pray that they won’t have to deal with him for another week.

He’s still one of the most inspiring finalists in the history of the show. The judges all said so, perhaps in an effort to avoid the sympathy votes that unalloyed meanness sometime inspires. But they really think it’s time for him to take that inspiring story to one of the nearby movie studios instead of the “Idol” stage. Since the hopefuls sang both a Burt Bacharach tune and a song they wish they’d written, the judges got to say so twice.
