Tropical storm Ernesto is expected to touch the coast of Honduras tonight, according the National Hurricane Center. Mexican Authorities are preparing for the storm and have issued a hurricane warning for the eastern Yucatan peninsula. In Mexico, mariachis gathered in the city of Cuernavaca to pay homage to the singer and legendary icon, Chavela Vargas, hours before she died. Vargas passed away due to respiratory failure at the age of 93.  In Honduras, a journalist is seeking asylum from the United States after his house was attacked by gunmen over the weekend.
