Food blogs we love: Fit, Fun & Delish

Who’s blogging: My name is Ana Frias and I’m a portrait photographer turned food photographer. I was born in Sonora, Mexico and moved to the United States when I was a teenager. I now reside in Scottsdale, Arizona with my husband Paul. I have two sons that are in college so that makes me an empty nester. Photography & food have always been my passion, however, I did not connect those two until recently, with my blog Fit, Fun & Delish.

Explain your blog name:  I started blogging as a way to share healthy recipes, my workouts, fun activities, and articles related to staying healthy  with my friends.  However, in 2012 I decided to devote the blog solely to all things food.

Blogging since: I’ve been blogging since July 2010 but I wasn’t as committed to blogging until I gave Fit, Fun & Delish a makeover as a food blog in July 2012.

Blogging from: Scottsdale, Arizona

Most popular post: My Lemon Dulce De Leche Popsicles are probably my most popular post. They’re so easy to make and who doesn’t want a nice cool treat on a warm day? My Greek Roasted Potatoes are also a hit!

What you’ve learned about food while blogging: I’ve learned that food is more than just something we eat. I believe food connects people at all levels wherever you go. Food’s main purpose should be to nourish our bodies for health and wellness but eating indulging foods serves a purpose as well. It feeds the soul. I like to eat 90% healthy foods and fill the rest with indulging treats. My motto is: everything in moderation!

Where do you get inspiration for your posts? Everything around me! When I go out to eat and order something that I truly enjoy, I always want to recreate it at home. There are so many wonderful foods and I love trying new things. My goal is to write all the recipes I’ve been cooking for my family for years. Some are family recipes and some I created. I want to pass them down to my sons so they can learn to cook them as well. I also love to read cookbooks and food magazines.

What have you learned from blogging?  I learned that you can connect with wonderful & honest people from all over the world! I’ve formed wonderful online friendships and some of the people I’ve met in person.

Where else can we find you online? You can find me on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and I make the occasional appearance on Twitter. I also have a website, Ana Frias Photographer, for my portrait work.

What are your favorite food blogs? I have many favorites but a couple that stand out with amazing food photography are La Casa Sin Tiempo and Penny De Los Santos.
