Bright coral balanced by earthy hues, modest hemlines and stark, clean lines characterized Mexican designer Paola Hernández’s newest collection – a complete departure from the overtly feminine designs typically expected from Latin designers.

“Simplicity is beauty,” says Hernández in reference to her Spring/Summer 2014 collection. And within simplicity one finds consciousness as well, explains the Mexico City native, who studied philosophy at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico and learned design at Central Saint Martin’s in England. “More than ever before, this collection reflects how we understand awareness and celebrate life as it unfolds.”
