White House names Latino as Deputy Director of Intergovernmental Affairs

Adrian Saenz joins the White House as Deputy Director of Intergovernmental Affairs, according to a White House official. Saenz will lead the White House team assigned to work with the states’ governors, legislatures and elected officials.

Most recently Saenz has been an Organizing for Action Senior Advisor. Prior to this work Saenz served as the National Latino Vote Director for the Obama-Biden re-election campaign.  He started working for Obama in 2008 as State Director in the Texas primary and the New Mexico general election campaigns.

Saenz was also the Chief of Staff for former Congressman Ciro Rodriguez and Congressman Harry Teague, and National Field Director for the DCCC during the  2006 cycle.
